Following a new-to-us trail, we came across a rock wall of columnar basalt. The columns of rock seemed to have bent over and broken off, giving the appearance of growing straight out of the hillside.
Along the trail, we also enjoyed a 45 foot, four section waterfall.
As we prepare for teaching in the Fall, I wonder how I can encourage students to venture out in the world and see new things. I am excited to share my discoveries and to remind our youth there is so much they have yet to experience!
