This week, I finally completed the Trail of Ten Falls at Silver Falls State Park. Throughout the 15 years I have lived nearby, I have hike every portion of this trail, but this week I did it all in one go! What struck me when I was done was how little extra effort I had to actually put in compared to the perceived daunting effort required to complete this trek. It was not as hard as I had built it up in my mind. It was not easy, but not as impossible as I had imagined. In retrospect, having hiked all of the trail in smaller portions in the past helped me. I need to remember this as I build units in the classroom, too. Scaffolding helps students!!
Here are some pictures of the waterfalls from this week as well as previous trips. They are all part of Silver Falls State Park.
